Jack Ragland was head of the department of Art at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa for 12 years. While teaching studio art, he hired models to pose for life drawing classes. He spent several years of his painting career doing figurative work, especially his family as his daughters were growing up. His life-long passion for dancing is evident in his paintings.
